Primary school benefits from race success

Event took place 29/04/18

This year’s Fountains 10K and Fun Run raised more than £12,000 for Fountains CE Primary School. As one of the sponsors we were delighted to see how the profits from the race have improved facilities at the school.

With hundreds of runners, young and old, taking part, the event was a huge success with a carnival-like atmosphere thanks to a DJ and Ripon City Band entertaining everyone. Winning the race was Jason Cherriman from Leeds City Athletic Club and Sharon Barlow of Harrogate Harriers.

Race director Mark Reed explains how the money has been spent: “Over the summer we have built a ‘winter proof’ outdoor play area for our reception children. At the other ‘end’ of the school our oldest children are now benefitting from a fully interactive touchscreen. On behalf of everyone at Fountains Primary School, thank you so much for your support.”

The 2019 race will be held on Sunday 19th May. To find out more click here
