Supporting the National Sheep Dog Trials

Event took place 27-29/07/18

Idyllic Jervaulx Abbey near Ripon, North Yorkshire hosted this year’s English National Sheep Dog Trials 2018.

Kettlewell Fuels was a sponsor at the popular event, with the crowds witnessing 150 of the country’s top sheepdogs and their handlers competing over three-days.

The National Trials are held by the International Sheepdog Society (ISDS) annually each summer in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Each day is judged separately, with the three winners qualifying for the run-off on the final day.

This year’s English National Sheepdog Trial winner, with the overall highest point score, was Sergio Perello Galdon with Murguia Jim.

The five highest scoring competitors from each day also securing a place in the England team bound for the Annual International Trials, which this year will be held in Northern Ireland in September.

In addition, a brace championship was held, in which two dogs are run as a team with the 2018 winner hailed as Ricky Hutchinson with Denwyn Moya and Jock.

Committed to supporting rural community events, Janet Kettlewell said:
“It was great to see North Yorkshire host such a prestigious event in the farming calendar, which attracts competitors and spectators from all over the country and all of us here at Kettlewell Fuels wish the English Team every success in the forthcoming International Trials.”
