It’s often thought that the most expensive time to buy your domestic heating oil is in the winter months but this is not always the case.

The cost of kerosene heating oil is determined by the fluctuating price of crude oil, which is influenced by global events. For instance, there was a significant surge in oil prices worldwide after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which led to further hikes in domestic heating oil prices.

During the winter, severe weather and seasonal demand can affect heating oil prices, and increased demand can lead to price rises.  As a helpful suggestion, we advise filling up your heating oil tank during the summer season and adding more during winter.
