Kettlewell Fuels is delighted to be a sponsor of this year’s Ripon Theatre Festival, supporting the dedicated volunteers who will ensure the festival’s success and create a wonderful experience for all visitors.
We are excited to introduce some of the passionate individuals who will be volunteering for the upcoming Ripon Theatre Festival, which will take place from July 2nd to 7th, 2024.
Recently, a group of Kettlewell Fuels sponsored volunteers gathered at The Ripon Inn to be interviewed by Your Harrogate for a radio feature that will be broadcast in June.
Among the volunteers is David Wells, the festival’s most senior volunteer, who has been a dedicated member of the festival team since its inception. His commitment to various organisations and his presence as a familiar figure in Ripon make him an invaluable part of the team as he takes on the role of stewarding at various events throughout the festival.
Joining David is Ava Reeves, the festival’s youngest volunteer. She is contributing to the festival as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award commitments. A student at Ripon Grammar School, passionate about drama, and a budding actress, Ava is actively involved in promoting the festival and providing assistance during events.
Another notable volunteer is Tina Salden, the Volunteer Coordinator who has been involved with the festival from the start. She works tirelessly as a member of the Festival Team, organising the festival year-round, coordinating with partner organisations and venues, and overseeing the shows being taken into care homes as part of the festival’s outreach work this year.
Charlie Studdy, a recent addition to the Festival Team, brings with him a wealth of experience from his career in theatre and events management. He is taking a leading role in coordinating the professional theatre productions at the Arts Hub and has been instrumental in organising the outdoor theatre programme featuring street theatre and open-air acts.
The festival also welcomes Jean Denney, who represents one of the more than 20 community groups participating. Jean will be performing with her church group, Open the Book, performing a version of the Story of Daniel at the Family Day event in the Spa Gardens on Sunday, July 7th.

The festival offers over 100 events for visitors to choose from. These include drama, puppets, street entertainment, circus, dance, music, and more. The events, some of which require tickets, take place both indoors and outdoors, involve professionals, and often include the local community.
