There isn’t a license requirement for buying red diesel fuel, but it’s important to make sure that you confirm with the fuel company you are purchasing it from that you intend to use red diesel legitimately.

You’ll need to fill out a Red Diesel RDCO form to confirm this. Be sure only to purchase red diesel, also known as gas oil, from a legitimate source, as any suspicion of illegal use can result in the company reporting your purchase information to HMRC.
