There are two types of domestic heating oil to choose from:

• Kerosene heating oil, also known as domestic heating oil and 28-second burning oil, is mainly used for home heating.
• Gas oil, which is also known as 35-second oil or red diesel, is generally used in commercial and agricultural applications. However, a small number of households still use it in their oil central heating boilers, but usually, these boilers are very old.

Kerosene heating oil is most commonly used for domestic boilers.
